ARE YOU USING THESE WITH MX BOOTS?

If you are planning to wear these pants over the top of your motocross boots, please get in touch with us before ordering. We will double check to make sure that they will fit over your boots.

WHAT SIZE SHOULD I GET?

The Alpha Motorcycle Pants have zero stretch in the waistband, so you’ll need to take this into account when ordering your size. Please email us if you're unsure what this means!

We recommend following these steps to ensure the perfect fit:

  • Grab a pair of pants you already own (preferably a pair with zero stretch), and that fit you well.
  • Lay them flat, making sure the zipper and button are done up and the waistband is perfectly aligned (see photo below)
  • Measure the waist as shown and write down your measurement

Not first pick

Great service from the team. I’m a loose size 38 with nearly every other brand , but tight 2XL with these. They feel great , the bottom is over the top baggy and don’t look great tucked in or over boots. 70s flared look. I reach for other pants over these sadly , maybe one day they’ll grow on me for now , they’ll sit idle unfortunately. Sorry team.

Cheers for taking the time to provide such an honest review Jason! We're very sorry that the pants didn't hit the mark for you here, but your feedback is invaluable. We hear you about the over-sized nature of these pants (from the knee down). The reasoning behind this is to allow the Alpha Pants to fit over the the top of full-size MX/Enduro boots . With this function in mind, we do tend to agree that the Alpha Pants can look a bit baggy when worn over casual boots/sneakers (as this is not their intended purpose). Either way, I have just sent you an email to reach out and see if we can improve your experience here in any way.

Great pairing with the Alpha jacket. 5 stars with a couple changes.

Bought these with the Alpha jacket, love the jacket, pants are solid, and they make a great pair. These share a lot of the pros of the Alpha jacket, but have a couple improvements that (for me personally) could bring them to the same level with the jacket.
Fit is decent, but personally I'd like to see a lower crotch/taller waist as the legs felt marginally long, and waist a little short. Cuffs are nice in that they go over tall off-road boots, and despite feeling bulky, fit surprisingly well inside boots too, but if you wear these with short boots the cuffs feel a bit unwieldy. Would love to see them slimmed down with maybe an expandable thinner section inside the zip to let them unzip to fit over a bigger boot. (Granted these are made to wear with ADV/dirt boots so it's not a huge issue) but would make them more flexible for when you just wanted to zip around town in colder wetter weather.
Additionally like some of the other reviewers have said, the snap at the waist tends to come undone without a belt (again not a huge issue if you wear a belt) but maybe throw a velcro strap there as well so you can use the velcro adjusters on the side instead of needing a belt.
That aside, these are great pants, and used as intended, in tall boots I have no issues using these and they will definitely get the job done well!

Thanks for the review Jebari, and we genuinely appreciate your thorough feedback on the pants! We agree with all your points and will definitely be factoring these in to future versions of the Alpha Pants.

Almost as good as the jacket

I bought these together with the Alpha jacket, which I reviewed separately. Most of what I wrote there apply to the pants as well. They work well, are quite warm and have protected me against all kinds of weather I have encountered. With the thermal liner in, it has to be really cold for me to feel a need to put on long johns. Like the jacket, I cannot see me using these in the heat of summer, but that’s OK, I have other things to wear then.

However, I am not *quite* as impressed with these as with the jacket. First, I wish they were a little bit more narrow in the lower legs, or alternatively, that I could tighten them a bit more at the bottom. They feel nicely tailored at the waist and thighs, but there is a lot of fabric at the bottom. I suppose the extra fabric is there to allow them to go over larger boots, but it feels a bit excessive to me. It makes them bulkier than I would like, and the legs tend to rub against each other when I walk, and so takes some points off an otherwise very stylish design.

The other thing I have noticed is that the press button at the waist has a tendency to pop open now and then. I read another reviewer mentioning this too, so I think this is something to look into in coming iterations. I have solved this by wearing a belt, which takes some pressure off the button. But it is a bit of a bummer, since the velcro tightening straps at the waist would otherwise have made a belt redundant.

Still, these are minor quibbles, and I am happy I bought the pants. My quibbles aside, they are well made, comfortable, with nice attention to detail. And they have decent pockets! I love how I am able to put them on and not worry about the weather forecast. I have often found myself looking at the skies wondering if I should stop and put on my rain pants, decided to hold off a little more, and then been struck by a sudden wall of rain. With these, I can just cruise on.

Niklas, we really appreciate this review and your amazing and honest feedback! We absolutely agree with your points and we're definitely working to make our Alpha Pants even better in the future. Thanks again!

Best all weather pants!

Wore these in a massive storm and the only water to get through was from my shirt wicking it past the pants, these were super impressive and dont look like your average out there water proof pants, they look great, were very comfortable and just felt like a great everyday/adventure capable pant. I will definitely be replacing my adventure pants now on.

Cheers Tristan! Thanks for taking the time to review and we're stoked to hear everything you love about the pants!

Gear for every envrionment.

A Well Traveled Riders Expirence of the Alpha Gear

I have ridden in several different countries on terrains that range from crown range switchbacks to borderline romaniacs off-road. Much of this riding has been done in several different sets of gear over the years ranging from Dainese to Revit and Alpinestar. I usually have to carry a couple of sets of gear on longer trips.

I recently purchased the Akin Moto Alpha full set of riding gear to put it to the test. Pants, Gloves, and Jacket. I wanted locally made high quality gear that didnt come with the outrageous pricetag of some globally recognised brands. *Cough Dainese*

To put this gear through its paces It was the only gear I took with me for a month-long trip in the Himalayas. The testing began before I was even able to wear it. Packing my bags was going to be a challenge as I only had 60 litres to play with to carry camera gear, motocross boots, helmet, riding gear, and enough clothes to get me through a week. The Alpha riding gear surprisingly packed down really well, which is nontypical for jackets like this. I managed to make it all fit, and had room for a few souvenirs to bring back. Now for the actual testing. India is a peculiar country because it can expose you to every weather extreme you can think of. I can confidently say that the Alpha 4.0 gear did everything I needed it to and more. I was able to wear the jacket and pants with liners out in 40-degree-plus New Delhi weather to keep the sun off, it kept me relatively dry in absolute torrential downpours(river running down the middle of the road kinda stuff), and it kept me warm with the liners in when I had to ride the Kardunga Pass at 19,000 feet at night, while it was snowing. (I would not recommend trying this it is apparently just stupidly dangerous.)

The purpose of Adventure Gear is not to be riding gear alone, it's supposed to be riding gear that equips you with the widest range of protection from both the elements and falls. The alpha gear did this extremely well (yes i had a little tumble or 2 while wearing it).

The Boys at akin have thought this gear out well and have equipped the jacket, pants, and gloves with features that are useful to real riders. Well done. And thank you to your gear for getting me through an environment that surely would have killed me had I not had it. 5 Stars

Tristan, thank you for sharing and what an absolute epic saga!!! We're ecstatic to hear how well the Alpha Gear performed over all those conditions (and more than a fair bit jealous about the ride too!). Cheers for putting our gear to the test and for supporting us, we thoroughly appreciate it!
