Introducing the ‘Darkwood’ Protective Riding Shirt from Akin Moto – a classic flannel that’s been custom built for riders.
We’ve lined the sleeves and shoulders with genuine DuPont™ Kevlar® fabric that has been woven with COOLMAX® comfort fibres. This patented technology provides very high levels of abrasion resistance, but it also ‘breathes’ - keeping you cooler on those hot Summer rides.
Need more protection? The Darkwood Riding Shirt is 100% compatible with premium, CE rated armour inserts for your back, shoulders and elbows (sold separately – check out the armour section on our store).
Small details make a big difference – The collar snaps down to stop it flapping against your helmet, there’s an internal water-resistant pocket for your valuables, and the sleeves are slightly longer so they are the perfect length when you’re on the bike. We’ve also used snap buttons on the front closure and pockets so they’re easy to open/close while wearing gloves.

The Darkwood Riding Shirt fits differently to our other Riding Shirts + Jackets. Please refer to the size guide and take the time to email us if you're unsure about sizing - we're here to help!
Lay your shirt or jacket flat on a table, and measure the chest, making sure to go from side seam to side seam (near the armpit like in the photo below - It's very important that you go ALL the way to the seam join). Compare your measurement to the table above.
