Perfect Summer Look

Very good replacement for the mesh summer jacket I had before. Slim fit, solid craftsmanship, the armour pockets are in correct places, and as always with Akin - very subtle design choices, which i love. Just cool blackness and protection all around. My favourite summer gear now.

Limited days to use

First off, Akin Moto is the first place I look for new gear, it is generally of high quality in production and is thoughtfully designed for riders who want quality gear without needing to look like a poser on their bike, it’s also discrete and stylish enough that I wear it off the bike and at work. I’ve had the Blackhawk shirt for a year and a bit, it rotates depending on the weather with my other Akin jackets, unfortunately as I live near Melbourne, warm riding weather isn’t always available, it’s great for summer, kinda, could use more venting when it gets hot. I was disappointed when one of the press studs that button down the collar detached from the collar material, so it wasn’t something I could replace or repair. However overall love its style and functionality.

Great Shirt

This has been a great 3 season riding shirt. I find the protection with pads inside to be comforting to my safety, as well as comfortable and unassuming to wear. For me the large is smaller than I am used to, it fits like a very tight shirt. If you would like to wear a hoodie underneath I would definitely size up. Overall after a year it is holding up good, there is a crease in one of the forearm pads, and one of the snaps for the collar has separated inside the collar, there was a replacement button included, but I'm not sure how to get it in the fabric 😂.

It does sound like you may have the earlier version of the Blackhawk Shirt rather than the current updated release. Either way, I’m genuinely sorry to hear about the collar button issue and the crease you’ve noticed in the elbow armour - that’s not the experience we want you to have.
