Introducing the new ‘Defender Motorcycle Hoodie’ from Akin Moto - We’ve taken your favourite casual hoodie, removed all the unnecessary stuff and hidden a truckload of protective and ‘moto-specific’ features inside.

First and foremost, this hoodie is designed to protect you. It’s fully lined with genuine DuPont™ Kevlar® fabric that provides very high levels of abrasion resistance.

Need more protection? The Defender Moto Hoodie is 100% compatible with premium, CE rated armour inserts (sold separately – check out the armour section on our store).

Need a secure place to store your valuables? We’ve hidden a water-resistant zipper pocket inside the front handwarmer pocket – you won’t have to worry about things falling out while you’re riding.

Hoodies are meant to comfortable… so we developed an entirely new ‘pull-over’ fit that works both on and off the bike. We also removed those pesky drawcords on the hood (who uses them anyway?) to prevent them slapping on the side of your helmet.

Size Guide

WHAT SIZE SHOULD I GET?:

*If you plan on using back armour, we recommend going up one size* - The best way to find out your size is to measure a hoodie you already own, and that fits the way you want while on your bike (factoring in any garments you wish to layer underneath). Lay your hoodie flat on a table, and measure the chest, making sure to go from side seam to side seam (near the armpit like in the photo below). It's very important that you reach the seam join on each side, even if you have to bend a little around the sides of the jacket. Compare your measurement to the size chart above.

Amazing fit and style

So happy with the hoodie wanted something casual but was still going to give me the peace of mind while daily commuting by bike. 5’10 75kg went with a large fits armour well. Highly recommend.

Incredibly good hoodie

I've had multiple jackets over the years but this is by the best one I've had, it looks like a normal hoodie but you're protected (and you actually feel protected).

Comfy!

Been eyeing this up for a while and finally decided to jump on it. I grabbed some sastec shoulder and elbow padding to go with it, its barely noticeable and I can happily wear the hoodie on and off the bike.

It is incredibly comfortable and moveable. Recommend going a size up as it is sized slightly smaller, took that advice from a previous review and mine fits perfectly :D

The key inspiration for me was being able to wear a non moto jacket on top as I have quite a few, while still feeling safe and protected on my bike. It is perfect for that.

My only regret was not grabbing the back Armour, which I will do with my next order when I pick up something else from you (any recommendations?), I tried to chuck a piece in from an older jacket I had but it did not fit correctly.

Only comment I had is with the zip on the waterproof pocket, I would like to see the zip moved from the top of that pocket to the side (or move the pocket down), as I found when I tried to put my phone in I could not get enough clearance and hit the top of the normal hoodie pocket which was a shame. Any items going into that waterproof pocket need to be quite small and thin.

First and last moto hoddie I will ever buy

It was definitely worth the wait. Amazing hoodie, great design and comfy! Definitely improved my confidence on the bike, feels very protective. Had a little trouble with sizing. I'm 6ft and have quite broad shoulders. I'm usually an XL for non-moto clothing however I ended up switching to a 2XL and it fits perfectly even with all the armour inserts in. Would definitely recommend this.
