Love the quality, fit and cut of the hoodie
I love this thing. It's loose enough to feel and look casual, but still feels secure. It's a solid, thick hoodie and feels quite thick, but it isn't cumbersome, even with armour fitted. It looks low key, but the finish and design has a fair bit of depth to it. Recommended.

Emailed back and forth with Grant for a couple of days to make sure I got the best fit possible. He replied really quickly every time and it was clear he loved the gear and wanted to get me the perfect hoodie. Ordered a medium on Thursday and it arrived in Friday, complete with a handwritten note. Haven’t experienced service like that for years. The hoodie fits amazingly well and the quality seems superb. Really can’t recommend enough at this stage!

I was looking for an inbetween jacket that I could use between the super cold days and the super warm days and a jacket that wasnt so moto centric that I could wear it to work or the store without looking like a reflective road worker (not knocking reflectivity, just hate things that stand out when not on the bike) I think this jacket is as close to perfect for that use as I could ask for. The jacket is very very comfortable and has an extended length in arms and torso to better allow for comfortable riding. The hoodie looks and feels good both on and off the bike. I think a good workable temperature range for this jacket would be from about 55F to 75F. The jacket lets just enough air through to keep you comfortable on the higher end of that spectrum. If it were to be layered with a thermal shirt you could probably stay comfortable below 55F. I hope to never have to test it but looking at the construction I feel this jacket is offering adequate protection. Ordering and communication with Akin was one of the best experiences I have ever had dealing with a company. Ordering from the US I wanted to make sure I didnt order the wrong size and have to try to navigate a costly return. Grant worked with me through several emails and nailed down my size which was absolutely perfect. If it helps anyone Im 5'9" 160lbs 40" chest and I ordered a M. One minor word of warning to US buyers, the zipper is anchored to the left side of the jacket. I dont know if its a left handed thing, an Australian thing, or just how things work in the southern hemisphere (like toilets flushing backwards :) ) but its the only jacket I have ever had that zips from that side and has taken a little bit to get my hands used to getting the zipper started and released. Would and will recommend this jacket and Akin to anyone I meet and look forward to trying out more products from Akin in the future!

After having it now for 4 weeks of riding to work and 400+ km trip into melbourne i am
very happy with the vanguard. overall length is really good, sleeves are ab touch long for me but it's not a big issue for me.Very good fit, doesn't ride up your back while riding, sleeves don't get pulled up by wind, zipper and internal pocket great.with cooler mornings and the humid days we've had worked as well as expected. The only thing i would like to see and it's a personal thing is some sort of closure for the outer pockets either studs or zip, not a biggie just paranoid about losing anything you put in them riding.
Gets a solid 4 stars easily recommend as a good aussie made product.
