We’re proud to introduce the 4th generation our Alpha Jacket. Our best jacket, just got a whole lot better!

I know what you’re thinking… “what’s different compared to the old Alpha Jacket”? We’ve spent the past 2 years riding all over the world, taking notes of ‘all the small things’ that we could improve. More importantly, we listened to YOU. Your emails and reviews had some hidden clues on ways we could improve the design… and we’ve been paying attention.

STAY PROTECTED
We’ve stuck with the classic Protective Maxtex® 600 D outer shell for superior abrasion resistance. For added protection, we’ve designed the jacket to be 100% compatible with body armour inserts for the back, shoulders and elbows (sold separately). NEED ARMOUR? CLICK HERE. Please note this product requires our regular Zeus Pro Ce Level 2 Back Protector, but not all our jackets share this same pocket size. Please email us if you are unsure.

STAY COMFORTABLE
Cold weather? We’ve improved the removable Thermoline® thermal liner, plus added built-in wrist gaiters to help block cold wind from entering your sleeves.

Warm weather? Zip-out that thermal lining and open the new SmartVentTM System (with a total of 5 zipper vents) for maximum air circulation, keeping you cooler.

With a total of 5 large pockets, you’ll have plenty of room to stash all your valuables on your next ride. We’ve added a magnetic keeper to the removable hood (to stop it flapping around), there’s a hidden key clip in the front pocket for your key/fob, reflective logos for extra visibility and premium YKK® zippers all round.

STAY DRY
Built for the worst conditions – Fully seam sealed + our new Humax® membrane features a huge 14k Waterproof + 19k Breathability rating, resulting in the ultimate protection against rain, wind and snow. (14,348 mmH2O + 19,241 g/m2/24 h)

STAY OUT THERE
We’ve built the new Alpha Jacket to take you wherever you want to go. From mountain peaks, to city streets. Around town, or around the world. The Alpha 4.0 Motorcycle jacket is ready for it all.

WHAT SIZE SHOULD I GET?:

The Alpha Jacket has ZERO stretch. We recommend that you choose a size that will fit 'loosely' on your body.

The best way to find out your size is to measure a jacket you already own, and that fits 'loosely' while on your bike (factoring in any garments you wish to layer underneath). Being a lot thicker than most other jackets this adds to the overall chest width of the jacket. We encourage customers to measure something that's a similar style (such as a snow or a thick technical jacket) as this will ultimately be the best comparison in chest width.

Measure by laying your jacket flat on a table, and measure the chest, making sure to go from side seam to side seam (near the armpit like in the photo below). It's very important that you reach the seam join on each side, even if you have to bend a little around the sides of the jacket. Compare your measurement to the size chart above.

If you're unsure of your size, please EMAIL US at support@akinmoto.com, especially if you are an international customer. We are here to help and will do whatever we can to make sure you order the right size.

Model in the photos is 6ft, 83kgs, has a 100cm chest and is wearing a size Large.

Invincible to the elements

Love this jacket! Sizing per Grant's recommendation was spot on, and its super warm with the removable liner, probably not the best hot weather summer jacket, but haven't had a chance to try it without the liner and with all the vents open so the jury is out still on that.
The wind/weather protection of the 600D Cordura in itself makes it super comfy even on colder wetter days, definitely opening my winter riding in the PNW (lots of drizzly rain) which is exactly what I was looking for. CE2 armor fits well and doesn't feel bulky, but you feel it just enough (I like to feel like theres something between me and the road).
Love the clean style and branding, fit/cut is great. This jacket is gonna get a ton of use.

Thanks for the review Jebari! We're so stoked to hear how much you're loving the jacket!

Couldn’t ask for more

I have waited a while to write a review, because I wanted to try the jacket out in a variety of weather conditions first. My first reaction when I unpacked it was that it is quite substantial. The appearance is certainly confidence-inspiring. It is also quite warm, and you feel that it has been built to keep the elements out. With the thermal liner in I can happily ride in temperatures as low as I dare to ride. I have now tried it in a range of weather conditions, including steady rain and temperatures down to 1°C, and it feels like I can cruise along no matter what the weather throws at me. And I don’t have to layer up like crazy, even in single-digit temperatures I can just put on a thin sweater, put on the jacket and go. I doubt that I will wear it in real summer temperatures, but in all other situations it will probably be the jacket I reach for from now on.

I find it quite good looking. Stylish enough, in fact, that I have been wearing it off the bike too, also when the bike wasn’t even on the radar. Take out the protectors and it can easily double as a regular autumn/winter jacket, something you cannot say about your typical motorcycle gear.

The protectors themselves are soft and flexible, and surprisingly thin considering they are all level 2. Some of the nicest I have tried. Since I live in Europe I did have some concerns about the jacket not being CE-approved, but some back and forth with the very nice and helpful Grant at Akin Moto convinced me that they do indeed take safety very seriously, and I also got a good and reasonable explanation for why they haven’t (yet) submitted their garments for CE-approval. The jacket certainly seems well made and confidence-inspiring, and I trust it will protect me should that ever be needed.

All in all, I am very happy with the jacket. It is comfortable and stylish, and it keeps me dry and warm when the weather gets rough. I really couldn’t ask for more.

Thanks for such a thorough review Niklas, and for taking the time to try the jacket in a variety of conditions first. We're absolutely stoked to hear that the jacket meets all your needs on the bike, as well as sometimes in a casual sense too! We're also glad that we could put you at ease that the safety of our gear is a top prioty. Ride Safe!

My new daily jacket

Honestly a great jacket, kept me mostly dry in a massive storm, where the only water ingress was from where the jacket can't seal 100% like around my neck and wind blowing it up the jacket. However this was extreme weather on the way to motogp over a 4 hour ride in a storm where the recommendation was to stay off the road and travelling through flooded roads. It did a better job of keeping me dry than my actual adventure gear. This has now replaced my adventure gear and my daily gear except when I really want my leather jacket. seriously impressed and happy with it. Also got it delivered over night in time for the motogp trip which was super exciting!

Thanks for the review Tristan, we're so stoked to hear how well the jacket went in such extreme weather!

Best motie gear on the market without a doubt

I never leave reviews but I had to for these legends.
1. The customer service from these boys is second to none, you said them your height, weight, measurements of existing clothing and these guys will pinpoint your size. They got my pants and jacket absolutely perfect.
2. Absolute legends who go the extra mile for their customers. (long story short, We had an issue with returns which was my fault for ordering the wrong item, they went above and beyond to rectify the issue, wearing the cost and honouring the store credit. Hats off to these lads)
3. I bought the 4.0 jacket, alpha pants and gloves, and have only tested the jacket so far, but just want to say this gear is the freshest, warmest, most comfiest gear on the market. The jacket is so toasty. I usually commute to work with multiple layers on but not anymore. I haven't known comfort like this whilst on a bike before. The wrist gator feature is so GOAT, they've thought of everything.
For reference, I'm 175cm tall, 73kg and pretty lean. a M jacket is perfect with the armour in it. I can only just fit a hoodie underneath it.
Thanks Akin,
Cal

Thanks for the incredible review Cal! We're so stoked that we could make it such an awesome experience for you. Cheers!

Good jacket, but not for rain

Is a very nice jacket, warm for cold weather, good materials, quality built. Fits well and it's feel great when riding.
First issue, it might be only my jacket, the double zipper is pain to hook, just doesn't go in easily, but I can live with that.
The big issue is related to design I believe, every time I'm riding in the rain after 10-15 min of Sydney rain, I get wet in the belly area.
What I found out is the water travel up from the bottom of the jacket. It's not a waterproof issue, is water finding a way up along the fabric next to the zipper when the jacket is wet at the bottom.
Unfortunately the main purpose for me to have this jacket is to stay dry, and it's definitely not doing that.
Don't have that problem with other jackets on the same conditions, so it's a shame that this one is not doing a great job on wet conditions.

Update:
After the original review, I had a great experience with Akin's customer service team. They went above and beyond to investigate why my jacket leaked, even though it could have been the combination of multiple factors.
Their dedication showed me they genuinely care about their products and are committed to improve in every possible way. It's rare to find a company like Akin these days!
I still recommend their jacket; it's well-made and kept me warm throughout the colder months, even if it wasn't ideal in heavy rain for me, it might be lot different for other riders.
I'll continue to support Akin and encourage others to check out their quality gear and customer service.

Hi F Lastra, thank you for your order with us and I'm so sorry to hear about the issues you're having! Something definitely does not sound right with what is happening here. We haven't seen this happen for any other customers.

Additionally, I personally commute in our Alpha jacket daily, and after countless downpours have never experienced this. I will contact you immediately to get as much information on the issue and we will work to turn this situation around for you.
