In May 2019, we received an order from a customer with an intriguing name: Gorm Taube. Little did we know, this guy wasn’t just another customer: He was a maestro behind the lens of a camera, and destiny would weave our paths together to form a close friendship.

Fast-forward a few years and we would find ourselves shooting a campaign with Gorm in Sardinia, Italy. While on this trip, Gorm shared a vision to see us create an anorak style jacket that’s specifically designed for riders. Something that’s waterproof, packable and can be thrown on quickly without removing your helmet. He jotted down the idea on napkin, and we got straight to work.

We’re proud to introduce our collaboration with Gorm Moto - a versatile high-performance Anorak that can be used both on and off the bike.

STAY DRY
We’ve all been there – you’re out riding and it randomly starts pouring rain. The Gorm Moto Anorak uses a clever 3-zip system that allows you to quickly throw it on without removing your helmet. Once you’ve got it on, the premium combination of high performance 10k waterproof material, SBS® weatherproof zippers and taped seams will ensure you stay dry.

STAY COMFORTABLE
Inspired by high end outdoor/hiking brands, the Gorm Moto Anorak uses a lightweight 10k breathable outer shell (with stretch) that will keep you comfortable and avoid the dreaded ‘plastic bag’ feeling that most rain gear suffers from. Combine this with an oversized fit, glove friendly zippers and snap-down hood, and you’ve got one of the most comfortable rain jackets on the planet.

BUILT FOR RIDERS
The Gorm Moto Anorak can be easily packed into it’s own pocket and stashed on your bike for quick access. Speaking of pockets, we’ve made the front pocket big enough to store anything you could possibly need and thrown a large SBS® weatherproof zipper on there to help keep out the elements.

WHAT SIZE SHOULD I GET?:

The best way to find out your size is to measure a jacket you already own, and that fits 'loosely' while on your bike (factoring in the protective gear you wish to layer underneath). We encourage customers to measure something that's a similar style (such as a rain jacket or hiking jacket) as this will ultimately be the best comparison in chest width.

Measure by laying your jacket flat on a table, and measure the chest, making sure to go from side seam to side seam (near the armpit like in the photo below). It's very important that you reach the seam join on each side, even if you have to bend a little around the sides of the jacket. Compare your measurement to the size chart above.

If you're unsure of your size, please EMAIL US at support@akinmoto.com, especially if you are an international customer. We are here to help and will do whatever we can to make sure you order the right size.

Model in the photos is 6ft, 83kgs, has a 100cm chest and is wearing a size Large.

Excellent windproof jacket for touring and off-road adventures

I used this jacket on a 10 day tour of the American Northwest, layered when needed on top of an Adventure Spec super shirt and various thermal layers depending on the weather. We encountered hot desert temperatures as well as windy, cold, rainy winter like conditions in the mountains of Wyoming and Montana. The jacket was perfect. Easy to pack, quick to put on, effective protection. The material of the sleeves was flapping on the open no speed limit roads of Montana, and I put on velcro straps to control the noise. Minor annoyance. This is a great light jacket for riders who prefer to wear their protection against the skin.

Hey L.J. thanks for taking the time to send through such a thorough review and for providing that feedback! That's awesome to hear how well it went across the various conditions of your 10 day tour.

    Great waterproof over jacket

Really love the look of the anorak, a stylish waterproof jacket that i can just take with me to throw over whatever gear im wearing. Feels very durable and well thought out, packs down to a decent size considering its a better material than cheap waterproof ponchos. Definitely good to carry in case of baad weather.

Thanks for the review and feedback Tristan! That's awesome to hear it ticks all those boxes for you!

    A great all rounder!

Bought this as my top layer jacket for my Knox armour wasn't waterproof and wearing layers instead of a single heavy jacket is much more sensible to me.

    Things I love about this jacket;
It's light! I was so surprised when the box came in the post, felt like there was nothing inside!

It fits perfectly, even with my Knox armour jacket and down thermal coat underneath the fit is snug but not tight and there's no unnecessary flapping around. The jacket definitely runs true to size.

The sleeves have been designed to properly fit inside a set of gauntlet gloves.

    It packs inside itself!

It's definitely water proof, not tested in torrential rain just yet, but have had it out for some very wet sticky rain for extended periods and I've been bone dry underneath.

The colour is great and true to the photos & matches quite well with my mosko tank bag.

    Things I don't love:
The hood could do with a way of rolling it up and tying down rather than just he popper to hold it down. It's a super minor gripe, but I think there's a better solution out there and certainly doesn't affect my rating or enjoyment of this jacket.

Hey Jack, cheers for the thorough review and also the incredible feedback! We really appreciate it!

    Nicely made, does the job.

I ordered an XL and it fitted over my armoured shirt, which is what I wanted it for. But if I wanted it to fit over my winter jacket, I would have to order a size up. Loved all the design elements.

Hi Freya, thanks for the review and the feedback! We're stoked you're loving the Anorak!
