We’re proud to introduce the 4th generation our Alpha Jacket. Our best jacket, just got a whole lot better!

I know what you’re thinking… “what’s different compared to the old Alpha Jacket”? We’ve spent the past 2 years riding all over the world, taking notes of ‘all the small things’ that we could improve. More importantly, we listened to YOU. Your emails and reviews had some hidden clues on ways we could improve the design… and we’ve been paying attention.

STAY PROTECTED
We’ve stuck with the classic Protective Maxtex® 600 D outer shell for superior abrasion resistance. For added protection, we’ve designed the jacket to be 100% compatible with body armour inserts for the back, shoulders and elbows (sold separately). NEED ARMOUR? CLICK HERE.

STAY COMFORTABLE
Cold weather? We’ve improved the removable Thermoline® thermal liner, plus added built-in wrist gaiters to help block cold wind from entering your sleeves.

Warm weather? Zip-out that thermal lining and open the new SmartVentTM System (with a total of 5 zipper vents) for maximum air circulation, keeping you cooler.

With a total of 5 large pockets, you’ll have plenty of room to stash all your valuables on your next ride. We’ve added a magnetic keeper to the removable hood (to stop it flapping around), there’s a hidden key clip in the front pocket for your key/fob, reflective logos for extra visibility and premium YKK® zippers all round.

STAY DRY
Built for the worst conditions – Fully seam sealed + our new Humax® membrane features a huge 14k Waterproof + 19k Breathability rating, resulting in the ultimate protection against rain, wind and snow. (14,348 mmH2O + 19,241 g/m2/24 h)

STAY OUT THERE
We’ve built the new Alpha Jacket to take you wherever you want to go. From mountain peaks, to city streets. Around town, or around the world. The Alpha 4.0 Motorcycle jacket is ready for it all.

WHAT SIZE SHOULD I GET?:

The Alpha Jacket has ZERO stretch. We recommend that you choose a size that will fit 'loosely' on your body.

The best way to find out your size is to measure a jacket you already own, and that fits 'loosely' while on your bike (factoring in any garments you wish to layer underneath). Being a lot thicker than most other jackets this adds to the overall chest width of the jacket. We encourage customers to measure something that's a similar style (such as a snow or a thick technical jacket) as this will ultimately be the best comparison in chest width.

Measure by laying your jacket flat on a table, and measure the chest, making sure to go from side seam to side seam (near the armpit like in the photo below). It's very important that you reach the seam join on each side, even if you have to bend a little around the sides of the jacket. Compare your measurement to the size chart above.

If you're unsure of your size, please EMAIL US at support@akinmoto.com, especially if you are an international customer. We are here to help and will do whatever we can to make sure you order the right size.

Model in the photos is 6ft, 83kgs, has a 100cm chest and is wearing a size Large.

Impressive

Very impressive bit of kit. Super comfortable and warm, haven't tested the water-proofness yet. Good sized pockets, although odd that one internal pocket is not accessible with the winter liner in - maybe put a slit in the liner in the next update?
Keep in mind that adding armour adds over $150 to the cost.

Hi, thanks for the review and we really appreciate your honest and genuine feedback! We're always looking to improve our gear so it's invaluable to us! We'll definitely consider easier access for the pocket under the liner in future. Just in case it isn't obvious, there's two extra internal water resistant pockets with YKK aquarguard zippers outside of the liner - one on the left inside the jacket, and one neatly hidden on the right between the main zip and the storm flap. Hope that helps!

What size do i get???

174cm, 82 kg, 106cm chest. Size Large. After checking the size chart, I kept asking myself, "What size should I get?" I have a stocky build, but I'm not overweight, and I usually wear a medium in moto jackets. However, I wanted this jacket for colder winter months with enough room to wear a couple of layers underneath without feeling tight in the chest or restricted in the arms and elbows.

Initially, I was set on getting a medium but after consulting with Grant, he strongly recommended a large and he was right, it is loose but once you add in the armour and base layers it feels like a normal jacket. For those who are shorter and worried about the jacket being too long, adding the shoulder armour raises it up just enough, it’s important to note the jacket is designed to sit low to prevent any wind from getting in. An interesting feature I discovered was that the zip seals all the way up to under the chin really well, which means no wind gets in. I usually wear a gaiter with my other jackets but i don't need one with this.

If you're looking for a real windproof and waterproof jacket (with a hydrostatic head rating) that is loose enough to wear normal clothes underneath, so you can discard your moto jacket and still be warm when you stop, this is the jacket for you. I tested it in 4°C weather last week with lots of freeway riding, wearing a thermal base layer and a standard cotton jumper underneath and I was toasty.

Thanks for such a through and incredible review! We're so stoked to hear that the size guidance and recommendation ended up working really well for you!

strongly recommend!

I’m honestly shocked with the quality of this. I’ve ridden on highways in the country of NSW, with temperatures below 10° and didn’t even use the lining yet but the jacket holds it firm and keeps you warm. Great product! You won’t regret. Also bought the alpha pants with all the insert armours and I feel safe. Not to mention the design which is sick. Well done guys!

Thanks for the review and the recommendation! We're so stoked to hear how well the jacket has performed for you!

Best damn jacket

I don't own a car, and I ride 24/7, 365. I've tried many a jacket but none can compare.

The Alpha jacket is warm, comfortable, and stylish. I also really appreciate the wrist gaiters. Now I have to try to justify buying the akin gloves and pants

Thanks for such an incredible review! We're so stoked to hear how well the Alpha Jacket is performing for you! If we can help you with any info or size guidance for either the Alpha Gloves or Pants please feel free to reach out to us at support@akinmoto.com
