We’re proud to introduce the 4th generation our Alpha Jacket. Our best jacket, just got a whole lot better!

I know what you’re thinking… “what’s different compared to the old Alpha Jacket”? We’ve spent the past 2 years riding all over the world, taking notes of ‘all the small things’ that we could improve. More importantly, we listened to YOU. Your emails and reviews had some hidden clues on ways we could improve the design… and we’ve been paying attention.

We’ve stuck with the classic Protective Maxtex® 600 D outer shell for superior abrasion resistance. For added protection, we’ve designed the jacket to be 100% compatible with body armour inserts for the back, shoulders and elbows (sold separately). NEED ARMOUR? CLICK HERE.

Cold weather? We’ve improved the removable Thermoline® thermal liner, plus added built-in wrist gaiters to help block cold wind from entering your sleeves.

Warm weather? Zip-out that thermal lining and open the new SmartVentTM System (with a total of 5 zipper vents) for maximum air circulation, keeping you cooler.

With a total of 5 large pockets, you’ll have plenty of room to stash all your valuables on your next ride. We’ve added a magnetic keeper to the removable hood (to stop it flapping around), there’s a hidden key clip in the front pocket for your key/fob, reflective logos for extra visibility and premium YKK® zippers all round.

Built for the worst conditions – Fully seam sealed + our new Humax® membrane features a huge 14k Waterproof + 19k Breathability rating, resulting in the ultimate protection against rain, wind and snow. (14,348 mmH2O + 19,241 g/m2/24 h)

We’ve built the new Alpha Jacket to take you wherever you want to go. From mountain peaks, to city streets. Around town, or around the world. The Alpha 4.0 Motorcycle jacket is ready for it all.

The Alpha Jacket has ZERO stretch. We recommend that you choose a size that will fit 'loosely' on your body.

The best way to find out your size is to measure a jacket you already own, and that fits 'loosely' while on your bike (factoring in any garments you wish to layer underneath). Being a lot thicker than most other jackets this adds to the overall chest width of the jacket. We encourage customers to measure something that's a similar style (such as a snow or a thick technical jacket) as this will ultimately be the best comparison in chest width.

Measure by laying your jacket flat on a table, and measure the chest, making sure to go from side seam to side seam (near the armpit like in the photo below). It's very important that you reach the seam join on each side, even if you have to bend a little around the sides of the jacket. Compare your measurement to the size chart above.

If you're unsure of your size, please EMAIL US at, especially if you are an international customer. We are here to help and will do whatever we can to make sure you order the right size.

Model in the photos is 6ft, 83kgs, has a 100cm chest and is wearing a size Large.

Great product

Was sceptical of the price when ordering something online without trying on first but once arrived could see the clear quality, the little extras down to the magnet in the hood to stop it flapping around was very impressed, after taking it for the first ride on a cold night there was no wind chill at all and extremely warm
Only downside I could say about it is it’s a little uncomfy around the inside of the elbows compared to the rest of the jacket but as soon as your riding you don’t notice it at all
Great jacket overall would highly recommend, well worth the money

Hi Reece, Thank you very much for the thorough review and recommendation! We're so stoked to hear how impressed you are with the extras in the jacket and the overall quality. Thanks again!

Great Jacket - Limited Sizing Options

- Warm and dry rides (Australia Winter 4 Degrees + Rain)
- Stylish (Who doesn't like looking good while being protected)
- Good Ventilation
- Express delivery (delivered within 2 days)

- Not enough sizing options for smaller folks (I'm 5"7, 60-63kg) and the small fits like a Euro 52
- Forearm armour inserts are very small and only covers to the elbow.

- The colour for the top half is off white
- The keychain snap hook on the left pocket is very useful

Overall the jacket is exactly what I was looking for. The sizing is my only issue with it.

Hey Adam, cheers for the review and incredible feedback here, we really appreciate it! We're always looking to improve our designs so we're definitely eager to take it all into consideration. I'm stoked to hear about the positives of the jacket but sorry to hear the fit wasn't perfect for you, and if there is anything we can help with please don't hesitate to reach out to us via email.

Top notch! Gloves take a bit of wearing in, not a true XXL.
Jacket could use a zip pouch on the right lower forearm for credit card or key stash instead of haven to dig for the inside pocket.
Would like to see Velcro on the collar so when zip is not fully closed the snaps don’t flap about on the riders helmet. Collar could be held back when it is not fully zipped up on those days when it heats up after the cold morning air and doesn’t need to be fully zipped and snapped closed, but it is a good jacket other than those couple of things. 🤙🏾

Cheers for the review and providing all this feedback! We're only a small brand, and all of our gear is designed in house, so we're alway eager to take ideas like you have provided into consideration. Thank you again!

Well considered design, quality finish

Just got out on my first ride this morning and it's simply the nicest jacket I've ever worn. It eliminates all wind chill, it's comfy and feels light on the ride. Everything on the jacket has obvious quality, the stitching, the zips, the buttons, the fabric. Can't wait to test it out on a longer highway ride.

Thanks for the awesome review Joe! We're stoked you love it!

If you're considering this jacket, pull the trigger. Trust me, you won't regret it. There are so many things this jacket does well, its hard to leave a comprehensive review. But after a couple thousand miles and a crash, here is what I got:

Waterproof: No need to say more. I was caught in several storms and was dry everytime.
Comfortable: Its got weight to it, but isn't heavy or restricting.
Warm: The inner liner works splendidly and even without it, the jacket cuts wind beautifully.
Zippers: Excellent. Why doesn't every jacket come standard with a double zipper?! Akin gets it right. Durable, waterproof a d easy to use.
Features: For the price, a magnetic hood lock, a key ring, waterproof inner pockets, outer pockets, 5 zipped vents, and soft inserts at the neck and sleeves make it a steal.
Style: Its subjective, but also, its awesome.
Protection: I crashed! It was low speed and I was only a little beat up, able to walk away. This jacket however, saved the skin on my shoulder. Without it, I would've been picking rocks and cotton out of road rash. See the picture. The initial layer tore, but helped me slide, and it never made it through the second.

Nitpicks (because there really aren't cons): The ventilation is mostly just ok. Now, take my opinion woth a grain of salt though. I wear a chest pad underneath that blocks much of the breeze I would get through the chest. I also wear a backpack, which blocks much of the exhaust through the back vent. Its also nigh impossible to use the zipper on the back if you're already on the bike, but I don't know if there is even a design that would make my forgetfulness easier to manage.
The color: Its not pearlescent white. But again, I think this is kind of just a me thing. I still love the white, but its a bit muted in comparison to my gloss white helmet and motorcycle. Also, as you may imagine, a white jacket is a canvas for bugs, dirt, and road tar. You'll be handwashing it often.

Verdict: Get it. You won't regret it.

And as with all the other reviews, Grant is the best customer service guy I've ever dealt with. He answered my questions quickly and in detail and supported me after my crash. Akin is the gold standard of what motorcycle gear should be.

Riley, thank you for such a comprehensive and honest review! We're so incredibly stoked to hear you have walked away from your crash and to hear that the Alpha Jacket protected you during it.
