In May 2019, we received an order from a customer with an intriguing name: Gorm Taube. Little did we know, this guy wasn’t just another customer: He was a maestro behind the lens of a camera, and destiny would weave our paths together to form a close friendship.
Fast-forward a few years and we would find ourselves shooting a campaign with Gorm in Sardinia, Italy. While on this trip, Gorm shared a vision to see us create an anorak style jacket that’s specifically designed for riders. Something that’s waterproof, packable and can be thrown on quickly without removing your helmet. He jotted down the idea on napkin, and we got straight to work.
We’re proud to introduce our collaboration with Gorm Moto - a versatile high-performance Anorak that can be used both on and off the bike.
STAY DRY
We’ve all been there – you’re out riding and it randomly starts pouring rain. The Gorm Moto Anorak uses a clever 3-zip system that allows you to quickly throw it on without removing your helmet. Once you’ve got it on, the premium combination of high performance 10k waterproof material, SBS® weatherproof zippers and taped seams will ensure you stay dry.
STAY COMFORTABLE
Inspired by high end outdoor/hiking brands, the Gorm Moto Anorak uses a lightweight 10k breathable outer shell (with stretch) that will keep you comfortable and avoid the dreaded ‘plastic bag’ feeling that most rain gear suffers from. Combine this with an oversized fit, glove friendly zippers and snap-down hood, and you’ve got one of the most comfortable rain jackets on the planet.
BUILT FOR RIDERS
The Gorm Moto Anorak can be easily packed into it’s own pocket (no seperate bag required) and stashed on your bike for quick access. Speaking of pockets, we’ve made the front pocket big enough to store anything you could possibly need and thrown a large SBS® weatherproof zipper on there to help keep out the elements.

Fit and finish appear to be top notch. Haven't been able to test its waterproof qualities yet as we are in the dead of winter here in North America, but based others experiences I have no concerns in that regard.
Love the Khaki colorway and appreciate that Akin offered the Gorm in a color besides run me over black, especially for a rain garment.
While I appreciate the design choices that make the Gorm so easy to put on, there are two areas where I think the design could be improved, namely:
1. Remove the "visor" from the front of the hood. I realize it offers some functionality when worn off the bike, but this garment will be primarily employed by most users while on the bike. The visor just gets in the way while wearing the hood under the helmet; and
2. Make the hood so that it can be stowed in a zippered pouch around the collar. As is, it flops around even with the snap retainer. I also worry that it will act as a rain catch if not worn under the helmet on rainy rides.
Other than those two caveats, I think Akin has done a great job in designing a very functional and stylish rain shell.
Lastly, I really appreciate the fantastic tracking information provided by Australia Post for my order. Ordering items from overseas is oftentimes somewhat of crap shoot with regard to knowing where one’s item is in the delivery process. Not so with Australia Post.
Hey Ross, thanks so much for the seriously thoughtful review and for taking the time to share your feedback - we genuinely appreciate it.
Great to hear the fit and colour of the Gorm Anorak has impressed you straight away. The Khaki colour is Gorm's signature colour and we couldn't agree more that it's a solid choice for visibility in the rain.
Your feedback around the hood is really valuable. The visor and overall hood design were a balancing act between off-bike practicality and on-bike function. While we have designed for the hood to be down while riding, and not to be worn under the helmet, I completely understand your points about bulk and potential movement even when snapped back. The idea of a stowable hood with a zippered collar pouch is a solid suggestion as well. This helps shape future revisions, so thank you for being specific.
Also glad to hear the tracking experience with Australia Post gave you confidence ordering from overseas. We know international shipping can sometimes feel uncertain, so clear updates make a big difference.
Thanks again for the support and for the constructive feedback - it means a lot.
Excellent jacket — I love the material, the finish, and the design. I haven’t had the chance to try it in the rain yet, but I’m confident it’ll hold up just fine. It also brings back memories of a similar one I had about 15 years ago and lost.
It took over two weeks to arrive in Peru, but honestly, it was worth the wait. Thanks for your work!
Thank you for the kind words! Stoked to hear the Gorm Anorak hit the mark for you, both functionally and emotionally. There’s something special about gear that brings back memories, so we’re glad this one could fill those boots. Thanks for your patience with the international shipping too – means a lot that you felt it was worth the wait.
Hope it treats you well on many adventures to come!
176cm, 70kg, Baselayer, protectors (Fox Baseframe Pro), jersey, softshell. still fits very good and nowhere to tight. (even when the downjacket is underneath the softshell)
The jackets feels very nice and smooth, packs down in very small size, so perfect for overlanding or offroad adventures where the space on the bike is rare. With the two big zippers on the front and the one on the side it is easy to jump in with all gear.
Very smart lil friend for the future!! Very happy!!
Hey Felix — thanks a ton for the awesome review! Stoked to hear the anorak is ticking all the boxes for you, especially with your full gear setup. We designed it with exactly the functionality you've mentioned in mind, so it's rad to know it's earning a spot in your kit. Love the “smart lil friend” line too!
Appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, and happy riding out there.
Great lightweight and compact product. Packs down small and is easy to unpack and chuck on in those times you're caught in bad weather. Love the fact you can chuck it on without having to take your lid off.
Hey Dan,
Thanks for another great review! Stoked to hear the rain gear is there for you if the weather turns. We’re all about keeping things quick and easy on the go—glad you appreciated the no-helmet-removal feature too! Ride safe!
Mine has been in my top box for weeks. Out on Wednesday and it started raining while at the bakery and dark clouds the way we intended to go. Out came the anorak for the first time, sized it the same as my jacket. It went on easy and fit perfectly. No flapping around when riding. The rain lasted an hour, not too heavy, but I stayed dry. Then it was as easy to take off at our next stop. Impressed. The pouch at the front was great for the phone. I particularly liked the shaping on the cuffs, neat design.
Cheers for the incredible review Pricey! That's great to hear how the Anorak was there for you at the perfect moment and kept you dry with ease. Cheers again!
