We’re proud to introduce the 4th generation our Alpha Jacket. Our best jacket, just got a whole lot better!

I know what you’re thinking… “what’s different compared to the old Alpha Jacket”? We’ve spent the past 2 years riding all over the world, taking notes of ‘all the small things’ that we could improve. More importantly, we listened to YOU. Your emails and reviews had some hidden clues on ways we could improve the design… and we’ve been paying attention.

STAY PROTECTED
We’ve stuck with the classic Protective Maxtex® 600 D outer shell for superior abrasion resistance. For added protection, we’ve designed the jacket to be 100% compatible with body armour inserts for the back, shoulders and elbows (sold separately). NEED ARMOUR? CLICK HERE. Please note this product requires our regular Zeus Pro Ce Level 2 Back Protector, but not all our jackets share this same pocket size. Please email us if you are unsure.

STAY COMFORTABLE
Cold weather? We’ve improved the removable Thermoline® thermal liner, plus added built-in wrist gaiters to help block cold wind from entering your sleeves.

Warm weather? Zip-out that thermal lining and open the new SmartVentTM System (with a total of 5 zipper vents) for maximum air circulation, keeping you cooler.

With a total of 5 large pockets, you’ll have plenty of room to stash all your valuables on your next ride. We’ve added a magnetic keeper to the removable hood (to stop it flapping around), there’s a hidden key clip in the front pocket for your key/fob, reflective logos for extra visibility and premium YKK® zippers all round.

STAY DRY
Built for the worst conditions – Fully seam sealed + our new Humax® membrane features a huge 14k Waterproof + 19k Breathability rating, resulting in the ultimate protection against rain, wind and snow. (14,348 mmH2O + 19,241 g/m2/24 h)

STAY OUT THERE
We’ve built the new Alpha Jacket to take you wherever you want to go. From mountain peaks, to city streets. Around town, or around the world. The Alpha 4.0 Motorcycle jacket is ready for it all.

WHAT SIZE SHOULD I GET?:

The Alpha Jacket has ZERO stretch. We recommend that you choose a size that will fit 'loosely' on your body.

The best way to find out your size is to measure a jacket you already own, and that fits 'loosely' while on your bike (factoring in any garments you wish to layer underneath). Being a lot thicker than most other jackets this adds to the overall chest width of the jacket. We encourage customers to measure something that's a similar style (such as a snow or a thick technical jacket) as this will ultimately be the best comparison in chest width.

Measure by laying your jacket flat on a table, and measure the chest, making sure to go from side seam to side seam (near the armpit like in the photo below). It's very important that you reach the seam join on each side, even if you have to bend a little around the sides of the jacket. Compare your measurement to the size chart above.

If you're unsure of your size, please EMAIL US at support@akinmoto.com, especially if you are an international customer. We are here to help and will do whatever we can to make sure you order the right size.

Model in the photos is 6ft, 83kgs, has a 100cm chest and is wearing a size Large.

My new daily jacket

Honestly a great jacket, kept me mostly dry in a massive storm, where the only water ingress was from where the jacket can't seal 100% like around my neck and wind blowing it up the jacket. However this was extreme weather on the way to motogp over a 4 hour ride in a storm where the recommendation was to stay off the road and travelling through flooded roads. It did a better job of keeping me dry than my actual adventure gear. This has now replaced my adventure gear and my daily gear except when I really want my leather jacket. seriously impressed and happy with it. Also got it delivered over night in time for the motogp trip which was super exciting!

Thanks for the review Tristan, we're so stoked to hear how well the jacket went in such extreme weather!

Best motie gear on the market without a doubt

I never leave reviews but I had to for these legends.
1. The customer service from these boys is second to none, you said them your height, weight, measurements of existing clothing and these guys will pinpoint your size. They got my pants and jacket absolutely perfect.
2. Absolute legends who go the extra mile for their customers. (long story short, We had an issue with returns which was my fault for ordering the wrong item, they went above and beyond to rectify the issue, wearing the cost and honouring the store credit. Hats off to these lads)
3. I bought the 4.0 jacket, alpha pants and gloves, and have only tested the jacket so far, but just want to say this gear is the freshest, warmest, most comfiest gear on the market. The jacket is so toasty. I usually commute to work with multiple layers on but not anymore. I haven't known comfort like this whilst on a bike before. The wrist gator feature is so GOAT, they've thought of everything.
For reference, I'm 175cm tall, 73kg and pretty lean. a M jacket is perfect with the armour in it. I can only just fit a hoodie underneath it.
Thanks Akin,
Cal

Thanks for the incredible review Cal! We're so stoked that we could make it such an awesome experience for you. Cheers!

Good jacket, but not for rain

Is a very nice jacket, warm for cold weather, good materials, quality built. Fits well and it's feel great when riding.
First issue, it might be only my jacket, the double zipper is pain to hook, just doesn't go in easily, but I can live with that.
The big issue is related to design I believe, every time I'm riding in the rain after 10-15 min of Sydney rain, I get wet in the belly area.
What I found out is the water travel up from the bottom of the jacket. It's not a waterproof issue, is water finding a way up along the fabric next to the zipper when the jacket is wet at the bottom.
Unfortunately the main purpose for me to have this jacket is to stay dry, and it's definitely not doing that.
Don't have that problem with other jackets on the same conditions, so it's a shame that this one is not doing a great job on wet conditions.

Update:
After the original review, I had a great experience with Akin's customer service team. They went above and beyond to investigate why my jacket leaked, even though it could have been the combination of multiple factors.
Their dedication showed me they genuinely care about their products and are committed to improve in every possible way. It's rare to find a company like Akin these days!
I still recommend their jacket; it's well-made and kept me warm throughout the colder months, even if it wasn't ideal in heavy rain for me, it might be lot different for other riders.
I'll continue to support Akin and encourage others to check out their quality gear and customer service.

Hi F Lastra, thank you for your order with us and I'm so sorry to hear about the issues you're having! Something definitely does not sound right with what is happening here. We haven't seen this happen for any other customers.

Additionally, I personally commute in our Alpha jacket daily, and after countless downpours have never experienced this. I will contact you immediately to get as much information on the issue and we will work to turn this situation around for you.

Gear Made To Handle Everything

A Well Traveled Riders Expirence of the Alpha Gear

I have ridden in several different countries on terrains that range from crown range switchbacks to borderline romaniacs off-road. Much of this riding has been done in several different sets of gear over the years ranging from Dainese to Revit and Alpinestar. I usually have to carry a couple of sets of gear on longer trips.

I recently purchased the Akin Moto Alpha full set of riding gear to put it to the test. Pants, Gloves, and Jacket. I wanted locally made high quality gear that didnt come with the outrageous pricetag of some globally recognised brands. *Cough Dainese*

To put this gear through its paces It was the only gear I took with me for a month-long trip in the Himalayas. The testing began before I was even able to wear it. Packing my bags was going to be a challenge as I only had 60 litres to play with to carry camera gear, motocross boots, helmet, riding gear, and enough clothes to get me through a week. The Alpha riding gear surprisingly packed down really well, which is nontypical for jackets like this. I managed to make it all fit, and had room for a few souvenirs to bring back. Now for the actual testing. India is a peculiar country because it can expose you to every weather extreme you can think of. I can confidently say that the Alpha 4.0 gear did everything I needed it to and more. I was able to wear the jacket and pants with liners out in 40-degree-plus New Delhi weather to keep the sun off, it kept me relatively dry in absolute torrential downpours(river running down the middle of the road kinda stuff), and it kept me warm with the liners in when I had to ride the Kardunga Pass at 19,000 feet at night, while it was snowing. (I would not recommend trying this it is apparently just stupidly dangerous.)

The purpose of Adventure Gear is not to be riding gear alone, it's supposed to be riding gear that equips you with the widest range of protection from both the elements and falls. The alpha gear did this extremely well (yes i had a little tumble or 2 while wearing it).

The Boys at akin have thought this gear out well and have equipped the jacket, pants, and gloves with features that are useful to real riders. Well done. And thank you to your gear for getting me through an environment that surely would have killed me had I not had it. 5 Stars

TT, cheers for the review here and putting our Alpha gear to the test! That's epic to hear how well the jacket and pants dealt with the varying conditions of your trip!

ALPHA MOTORCYCLE JACKET 4.0 - BLACK

Grant helped me out with sizing and went up a size from XL to XXL and couldn't be happier! Been riding with the jacket and pants combo in QLD and NSW, they hold up amazing and are some of the best gear I've had. Highly recommended them!

Thanks for the review! We're stoked to hear how well the jacket is going after a few rides and couln't be happier that the size up worked well for you!
