We’re proud to introduce the 4th generation our Alpha Jacket. Our best jacket, just got a whole lot better!

I know what you’re thinking… “what’s different compared to the old Alpha Jacket”? We’ve spent the past 2 years riding all over the world, taking notes of ‘all the small things’ that we could improve. More importantly, we listened to YOU. Your emails and reviews had some hidden clues on ways we could improve the design… and we’ve been paying attention.

We’ve stuck with the classic Protective Maxtex® 600 D outer shell for superior abrasion resistance. For added protection, we’ve designed the jacket to be 100% compatible with body armour inserts for the back, shoulders and elbows (sold separately). NEED ARMOUR? CLICK HERE.

Cold weather? We’ve improved the removable Thermoline® thermal liner, plus added built-in wrist gaiters to help block cold wind from entering your sleeves.

Warm weather? Zip-out that thermal lining and open the new SmartVentTM System (with a total of 5 zipper vents) for maximum air circulation, keeping you cooler.

With a total of 5 large pockets, you’ll have plenty of room to stash all your valuables on your next ride. We’ve added a magnetic keeper to the removable hood (to stop it flapping around), there’s a hidden key clip in the front pocket for your key/fob, reflective logos for extra visibility and premium YKK® zippers all round.

Built for the worst conditions – Fully seam sealed + our new Humax® membrane features a huge 14k Waterproof + 19k Breathability rating, resulting in the ultimate protection against rain, wind and snow. (14,348 mmH2O + 19,241 g/m2/24 h)

We’ve built the new Alpha Jacket to take you wherever you want to go. From mountain peaks, to city streets. Around town, or around the world. The Alpha 4.0 Motorcycle jacket is ready for it all.

The Alpha Jacket has ZERO stretch. We recommend that you choose a size that will fit 'loosely' on your body.

The best way to find out your size is to measure a jacket you already own, and that fits 'loosely' while on your bike (factoring in any garments you wish to layer underneath). Being a lot thicker than most other jackets this adds to the overall chest width of the jacket. We encourage customers to measure something that's a similar style (such as a snow or a thick technical jacket) as this will ultimately be the best comparison in chest width.

Measure by laying your jacket flat on a table, and measure the chest, making sure to go from side seam to side seam (near the armpit like in the photo below). It's very important that you reach the seam join on each side, even if you have to bend a little around the sides of the jacket. Compare your measurement to the size chart above.

If you're unsure of your size, please EMAIL US at, especially if you are an international customer. We are here to help and will do whatever we can to make sure you order the right size.

Model in the photos is 6ft, 83kgs, has a 100cm chest and is wearing a size Large.

Best jacket out there

I got this and its my favorite jacket I own. I wear an XL shirt and buying an XL it fit perfectly. Love the inclusion of the thermal liner even if I won't ever use it. Looks incredible with minimal branding. Jacket is lightweight and very protective. Definitely excited to see what they do next.

Thanks for such a thorough review! We're so stoked that you're loving the Alpha Jacket and that it fits perfectly! For any customers looking to find their perfect size we have a detailed size guide for the jacket, but we're always availble to guide you further on

My New favourite Jacket

Great fit and really comfortable, you dont realise you have a jacket on. The sizing chart was perfect, size M, i'm 80kg and 175cm tall. Having a white jacket on certainly feels like you can be seen. All my gear now in AKIN, Love It.

We're so stoked to hear that your Alpha Jacket is your new favourite Paul, thanks for such an awesome review!

Jordan Davis
Sick all weather jacket

The latest addition to my growing collection of Akin gear, the alpha jacket is exactly what I've come to expect from this crew, comfortable, well designed, super solid construction and sick looking

Hi Jordan, thank you for such an awesome review of our Alpha Jacket! I'm stoked you're loving it and we're really happy to hear the jacket has reinforced what you have come to expect from our gear!

I really like !

So after using this jacket a few times, a few things to note:

-well built
-ventilation works well
-white top half creates good low light visibility
-armour fits in well and doesnt shift
-pockets are top notch
-breathable with vents open
-looks tough
-made in australia, thats a huge deal

-velcro cuffs are huge (no big deal)
-not a great summer choice (I wouldn't wear past 21°C or 22°C maximum
-neck is tall and digs in a little, fine after adjusting (not a big deal)
-price may turn people away but I think it is justified
- vents are small but work fine, understandably as the integrity of jacket must remain

-there are none :)

I would reccommend this Jacket 100% dont even think twice. I bought it as my night riding jacket for cool-cold nights and so far it ticks all the boxes. The options for white jackets are limited for me as I tend to go for the casual look rather than dressing up as Valentino. I look forward to wearing it honestly as it matches my all black bike and mostly black getup.

Would I change anything? Nah not really, I like it how it is.

No buyers regret at all!

Xelo, thank you for such a comprehensive review on our Alpha Jacket! We appreciate it so much. The break down of your thoughts are incredibly helpful. We're only a small brand and everything is designed here in house so it's such valued feedback to review. Thanks again and I'm stoked to hear how much you're loving the jacket!

The coolest jacket I've ever met.

I haven't been able to sleep since I first saw akinmoto's "ALPHA MOTORCYCLE JACKET 4.0" ad on Instagram. There are many different brands of jackets, but the design of "ALPHA MOTORCYCLE JACKET 4.0" won't let go of my heart.
The design of the jacket for the motorcycle I wanted was right in front of me.
When I arrived at my destination for a motorcycle and walked around, I really liked the design that wouldn't make other people think, "You came on a motorcycle, did you?"

After receiving the jacket, I was able to double-check that it was exactly the design I was thinking of.
However, the design was not the only thing I liked about "ALPHA MOTORCYCLE JACKET 4.0." It was well equipped with an inner liner to prepare for the cold, a structure for ventilation, and a space to use a protector. Especially, looking at the key ring hidden inside the pocket, I could see that this jacket was designed by friends who really enjoyed motorcycles.
The detail that fixes the hood with a magnet is also an indispensable attraction point.

Hey akinmoto friends, you guys really like motorcycles!

However, there was a caveat when purchasing a jacket.
It was a choice of size.
I could wear my usual "M" size with almost no problem.
However, I couldn't help but worry because of the notice that I should choose a more relaxed size since it doesn't stretch at all.
I am in South Korea, and there are no shops here where I can try on akinmoto's jacket. After thinking about size selection for a few days, I sent an inquiry to akinmoto and a very kind Grant consulted with me. Grant heard my size and recommended a size "s" or "m". But I was thinking of wearing an extra layer of warm clothes under my jacket in the cold winter (South Korea's winter is harsh), and I ordered an "L" size so that I don't feel stuffy when I wear thick clothes.
But I got the jacket and found out it was a bit big for me. I should have chosen the "M" size that Grant recommended, but I can't help it since I made the final choice.
I'm 170cm tall, weigh 70kg, and have a chest circumference of 100cm. If you're the same body size as me, don't choose the "L" size!

Hey RK,

Thank you so much for such an amazing review! We're so stoked to see such a passionate rider that's so excited about our gear!

We're so sorry to hear that size L ended up a little large, but if we can ever help you in any other way in the future please don't hesitate to reach out - Grant
